Something very handy here, will save a lot of messing around, and there's a fix in there for out of date demo files(demos recorded in an older version of l4d2 wont work when the game updates usually)

i tried both them ways and didnt have fun. i ended up with 5millions 10mb tga files in my l4d2 folder. using the movie way ingame was aweful and laggin loop sounds. i just do the normal shizznit with the commands first followed by watching demo and recording the good bits with fraps, while having demo player open to skip and rewind etc. once saved i have used 2 programs.

the simplest was windows movie maker. just dragged the saved avi from fraps folder into the frames, added the same transition to each clip then dragged the audio in. it converted to any choice of resolution in around 5 mins.

the other way was using Camtasia. dragged the saved avi files in but this also let me save to HD formats and add captions when and where ever i liked. the better software but a little more fiddly - nothing to moan about.

yeah i prefer using fraps to record it aswell mate, usually record it in 720p, i dont like having demoui in the way though, and there are commands on that link for shit like turning hud items off etc currently i use one proggy for adding effects, transitions and captions, that would be cyberlink powerdirector 8, also lets me make the output video 720p and can do h264 HD with it, i usually go for mpeg2 files with either 5000 bitrate or 8000 bitrate though, last vid i did with it was around 3 minutes long and around 250mb in size , quality very very good,

using camtasia it gave me a nice 720p output for 110mb which was quite nice but i dont really care for making movies - only little stuff for showing off our skills (or lack of lolol)

i aint tried any really good software for vids tbh but cyberlink has been on the go years and i expect its decent kit. windows movie maker ftw

yeah its like an easy to use sony vegas minus some stuff, thought i admit i've steered clear of windows movie maker because of its lack of editing features lol, but thats because i like to learn to mess with effects, seen some cracking stuff by a guy on youtube il have to link you to some of his shit lol

well i used camtasia for the hd and captions but for a quick no mess vid the movie maker is tops lol - just no frills moooovies haha
